The story so far

From Istanbul to Enfield

Bektaş trained as an accountant in Turkey, completing an MSc in Accounting & Auditing at Istanbul University before building a career that took him well beyond a single office or a single country. Over more than twenty years he's worked across construction, food & beverage, textiles, forestry and outsourced accounting: sectors with very different rules, rhythms and risks, and each one taught him something the last one didn't.

That path led through Turkey, the UK, Ireland, Saudi Arabia and Cameroon, giving him a rare, first-hand understanding of how businesses actually operate across borders, not just how the numbers are supposed to add up in theory. It's the kind of experience that's difficult to pick up any other way, and it still shapes how he works with clients today.

In 2019, he founded Anatolian Accountancy on a simple idea: clients should deal with a real accountant who understands their business, not a rotating queue of case handlers. Every client works with Bektaş directly, in English or Turkish, whether the conversation is about a Self Assessment return or a five-year plan for growth.
